Tassawuf : The Ethical Conduct of The Prophet
Introduction
Tassawuf is one of the important aspects of Islam. Without it, a muslim is being reasoned as if he is walking with one leg. However, this kind of education is no longer being accepted by many. Most of the Muslim does not like their soul to be treated with the Islamic spiritual theraphy. They rather live in anxiety, fear and calamities on the inside rather than being treated.
Tassawuf is one of the subjects in Islam. One of its goal is to direct every actions towards God. Unlike the jurispruence, its discussion is wholely is based on the ways to achieve sincerity rather than the actions.
The Discussion of Tassawuf
It is important to note that tassawuf only touches the inner part of the human which is heart or soul. People sometimes get confused with the terminlologies and discussion until they say that whoever has relied on God (tawakkal), don’t have to work, eat or do anything. This is wrong assumptions.
Tawakkal, zuhud, syukur and sabar lies within the heart not the outside. For example, we might see a person with full believe in God days and night but his heart is not attached with the worldly benefits. He might solely do it for the sake of God.
The Prophet As The Highest Spiritual Master
As we discussed, all of the sources of tassawuf came from Al-Quran and the prophetic tradition. It is the matter of that we do not understand the either the terminologies or the explanation of those scholars. However, there is a special chain in tassawuf called the spiritual chain. This chain is the prove that someone has spiritually met a person who has spiritually met a person until the companion who has met the prophet himself.
Conclusion
It is important to note that besides the jurisdiction of Islam, there is also ethical conducts in practicing daily lives. This is the part where most of the Islamic world is clueless about. Some of them even denying the existence of it. To make it more challanging, the spiritual masters in every time do not promote themselves like a businessman to the public. This is because they do no longer carry the love of fame within themselves because that is one of the bad ethical conducts in Islam.
