The Concept Of Worshipping God In Islam

 Introduction

 

Islam is the only religion that claims God is sole and there is no others like him. The attributes that are being explained to him is also very logical and easy to understand. However, it is up to the listener or viewer whether to accepts it or not.

Contra to the popular believes, the main things that is brought by Islam is not in the Arabic clothes,mosques,beard and others. The main things propagated by the prophet is the true knowledge and ethics. The things mentioned is only the side parts of Islam rather than the main things it offered.

The Muslim believes that the main purpose of dwelling this live is to worship the sole God. It is mentioned in the Al-Quran :

 

 

و ما خلقت الجن و الأنسان الا ليعبدوني

 

Translation : I did not created the man and devil except to worship me.

The Concept of God In Islam

 

Allah is the name to the sole essence of God. He existed before times and non is like him. The discussion about acknowledging his existence can be divided into two parts. The first one is by using the sole intellect and the second one is by using the Muslim holy book which is the Al-Quran.

Our rationale mind will rejects when we say that something exist without a cause. A son is born into this world without a parents, the conditions of raining without a cloud and others are not logical. Those who deemed this absolutely is not sane. If we trace the cause of existence of all the things that we can see, it will end in acknowledging that there is one creator that is not being created, created the first creations. The first existence is of course the God or whatever people call him. This is the proof by using the human rationale (ادلة العقل)

Conclusion

 

One of the reason that this paper is being written down is because the modern Muslim seems to be confused the right way to worship God. They are more likely to assume that the acts of worships are only applicable in the mosque,prayers,fasting,wearing Islamic dresses and others. This kind of understanding needs to be improve by learning more about the religion so that the Muslim may move forward.

Thus, both of the scholars and the public needs to increase their efforts for a better religion. The scholars need to spent more of their time teaching and the public needs to make more time in getting the education. This is because whatever the acts of Muslim must be done with adequate knowledge.

Lastly, it must be understood that the strenght of Islam does not lies within the materialistic value. It is rather a total submission to God. The companions  of the prophets spread Islam throughout the world when Mecca was not a land of cultivation like the Romans and Persian. They managed to spread it within few hundred years to most part of the world.
