The present thinking seems to be more likely interested in getting advance without having a proper understanding in advancement. It is human nature to have interest in moving forward. However, a proper definition,theory and practical must be presented.









The current philosophy seems to be more focused in materialistic value rather than metaphysical part of human. The discussion about material is really widespread. This resulted in the empathy of human souls. The regular fighting,suicide,anxiety, depression,corruption and others are all born from this lackness.

Most of the new sciences that emerge are most likely with the goal of either getting wealth,fame and rank. This is crucial for the Muslim because they believe in the life after death and all of the things he possesed in this world cant be used to buy the Lord`s pleasure. However, this does not mean that Islam restrict gaining them entirely. Islam has its own way in acquiring and using them aligned with the religion`s way.


What Is Modernity?

 

According to Merriam Webster, the term modernity means a state of advancement. Others stated that the modern means an innovation. It is part of human mind where they when something to develop into a better state of something like financial,territories, marriage,places and others.If the understanding of modernity is like stated above, Islam does not has any problem at all. Everything that is not mentioned in the Al-Quran or As-Sunnah is considered as permissible unless it is stated otherwise.


Islam Provides Goal Further Than Material Achievement

 

The current widespread knowledge is only about how to accumulate wealth, becoming famous and other temporary goals. What about the question such as how do we get here? Where are we going to go after death? What do we have to do here? Are humans are doing the right things? Who do we have to listen to?. Is there any answers to all of this questions?

The answer is definitely yes. After acknowledging the oneness of God and prophet Mohamad is his messenger, all of the mentioned things above will be answered. However, it will not be discussed in this paper because it will be lengthy. The discussion about the concept of life,god,hereafter, sins and other religious matter are far more important than materiliastic things. This is because human needs on materials is temporary. For example, a man will change his clothes,keys,house,weapon and others constantly. This is because the capability and needs of materials cannot be in the necessity of human for a long time. A lot of technological things keeps on developing and putting too much efforts are not a good decision.


Conclusion

 

Not all of the modern philosophy is against the Islamic values. There are some that goes along with it but need to be filtered by the scholars. This is because modern people do not have any reference on their thinking. They can think,speak and act to whatever they wants even it is against the holy books.

In Islam, the Al-Quran,As-Sunnah and the scholars are made as the reference of thinking. Whatever we think,speak or act must come from these sources. If one is unable to do so, he must seek the guidance of the scholars. This is to avoid the confusion from those parties that propagate life is just a matter of wealth,rank and fame.

  Pengenalan       Perlu diketahui bahawa manusia itu terbahagi kepada dua bahagian yang tidak dapat dilihat dengan mata kasar, iaitu akal dan ruh. Tanggapan Islam Terhadap Kemodenan

  Pengenalan     Perlu diketahui bahawa Islam adalah agama yang membuka seluas luasnya kepada pengikutnya untuk beramal. Ini termasuk di dalam hukum hakam yang digariskan oleh ulama. Hanya terdapat sedikit perkara yang wajib dan begitu juga yang haram. Yang lain semuanya bersifat harus. Akan tetapi, ramai di antara penganutnya yang tidak faham hukum hakam ini sehingga ada yang mengatakan Islam agama yang jumud.
